4 rooms with a large loft room upstairs. The loft offers 4 single twin sized beds with fans and a couch.

10 Beds

6 beds with A/C, including one king sized bed, one queen sized bed, and four double beds. The loft offers 4 single beds with fans.

3.5 Baths

We offer 2 ensuite bathrooms attached to the king and queen bedrooms. The upstairs bathroom and downstairs 1/2 bathroom are shared. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off.

The Beach Pad – 1 Bedroom Apartment

The Beach Pad

The Beach Pad is a turn key one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of the Beach House. It can be rented separately, but if you need extra space for your larger groups, you can rent the beach pad together with the beach house.

The beach pad offers 2 queen beds, a big bathroom, wifi, hot water, kitchen, living and dining room, outside hammocks, A/C throughout the apartment, covered parking, and separate private entrance.

Details

The Beach House offers a unique vacation rental experience within a wildlife corridor right outside the house, where you can expect to have regular visits from a variety of creatures.

You’ll likely see iguanas sunning themselves, and a colorful array of birds, including Bob the bird, our curious Tiger Heron, toucans, a party of macaws, green parrots, and parakeets. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot a monkey or two right from your hammock!

About The Hosts

Maria Hudson

Maria’s parents came to Costa Rica in the late eighties and fell in love with the Osa Peninsula and the surrounding areas and decided to buy and build. It has been her families vacation home since then. In 2012 she moved back to Puerto Jimenez to revive the house so other families like hers could enjoy it. Maria has been operating the Beach House together ever since.

Nela Alvarado Trejos

Nela is the Beach House co-host and Maria’s best friend. She is Costa Rican and moved to Puerto Jimenez around 12 years ago. She is an avid surfer and knows the area very well, since she grew up close by. Both, Maria and Nela, have been In the Osa 12 years and can assist you with tours, information, transportation and anything you need

  Family of 9 and plenty of room. Beautiful location and house. Clean and comfortable! Macaws, monkeys, iguanas and frogs! Restaurants are fabulous! Maria is the best host I have ever experienced!   We had a wonderful stay at the Osa Beach House with a group of 9, ages 10-75yrs- we booked the apt downstairs and main house. Maria was beyond helpful- she has lived in Port Jimenez for 25+ years and connected us with fabulous guides for a ton of activities around PJ and Matapalo. We woke early to visit monkeys in the trees at the end of the road and watch the many birds and iguanas in the yard from the porch. We loved every activity Maria helped us book and swimming and paddle boarding at the beach in front of the house (and drinks and the pool at Kaleas Yard down the street!) in the afternoons. We enjoyed eating in town for dinners in the evenings and Maria also arranged for a local friend to cook at the house for us a couple of nights which was a big treat. The house itself was beautiful and the experience of staying made us feel a part of town and nature, as opposed to a generic resort experience, or a spot packed with tourists- if this is your goal, this is your spot!

  Maria was an awesome hostess - we had some problems with restaurants delivering food and she stepped in to help. She was always available for help with anything we needed. Also, she stopped by a couple of times and we were able to visit with her and I thought she would be a wonderful person to hang out with. The house was adorable and obviously lovingly maintained. The wood house was immaculate, clean, well appointed with AC and fans everywhere, and had lots of ocean toys and fishing poles. Great water pressure too. The nature was off the hook. Scarlett McCaws and lots of other birds every day. A friendly cat named Mikey :-) Some little things were imperfect….. we had a gas leak in the house, we had a leaky pipe, The gps pin takes you the wrong way at the very end, just use your intuition, and eliminate those last few turns.Overall, we loved it!   We absolutely loved our stay at Maria’s place! She was super communicative, helpful and right on property. The house is fantastic and in a beautiful location. We had two families with lots of kids and it was good because we weren’t worried about things getting broken or ruined as it’s an easy house to be in. Lots of space to sleep everyone with plenty of private rooms. We will definitely be booking again!

  I booked the Beach House for nine of my study abroad students (ages 20-25) staying in Puerto Jimenez in between a week in Dominical and two weeks at a a sea turtle research station. The idea was for them to get a little rest and relaxation and some time to catch up on some of their schoolwork. Maria's house was great for our purposes. The students loved the location and spent their time relaxing, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and occasionally walking to town. I wouldn't hesitate to bring another group to the Beach House.   Maria was an excellent host who was very accommodating and involved in our trip via multiple different avenues to help with our stay, make things more enjoyable, and assist with many excursions and local knowledge. The Osa Beach house is located in a perfect spot for just hanging out watching the flicks of macaw, taking a walk down the street to see monkeys or birds, or getting on the water via the kayaks and paddle boards to see more wildlife and exquisite beaches! The size of the house and the property can easily accommodate a family vacation or group sized party with ease and will surely not disappoint! We will always remember our trip to Costa Rica and especially, Maria and her Osa Beach House. It felt like a second home.
